häwa heat exchangers ensure that components in control cabinets and enclosures reliably maintain their optimal operating temperature—even in environments where dust, moisture, or corrosive air make it impossible to use a conventional filter fan. Two separate circuits prevent foreign particles from entering the cabinet from the outside. To meet different requirements, häwa offers two options: the air-to-air heat exchanger and the air-to-water heat exchanger.
The air-to-air heat exchanger uses a highly conductive aluminum fin system and two separate, IP54-sealed air circuits: The warm interior air is cooled via the heat exchanger coil and recirculated into the cabinet, while the cooler ambient air in the outer circuit dissipates the heat. The interior and exterior fans can be connected and controlled separately, and the coil is easily accessible for cleaning—a particularly cost-effective and low-maintenance solution.
The air-to-water heat exchanger is used in situations where neither filter fans nor air-to-air heat exchangers are sufficient: The warm air inside the cabinet is drawn in by the fan, cooled by the water-cooled coil, and recirculated—reliably even at ambient temperatures up to 75 °C and in heavily contaminated ambient air. A thermostat-controlled valve regulates the water flow according to demand, thereby saving cooling water. Wear parts such as the fan and valve can be easily replaced by the user.
