The edge the future needs
In line with the German federal government’s targets for achieving carbon neutrality up to 2045, we began systematically pursuing this goal as early as 2021. Today, it is clear that our commitment is paying off. By the end of 2025, our roadmap to carbon neutrality will have put us a full 10 years ahead of the defined target.
This result is no coincidence, but rather an expression of our clear commitment: to take responsibility, act sustainably, and actively shape the future. For us, climate protection means not only setting goals, but also implementing concrete measures—efficiently, measurably, and effectively.
A key component of this is our state-of-the-art paint shop, which consumes significantly less energy and resources thanks to its high efficiency and innovative technology. This is complemented by the use of local district heating from renewable energy sources, which allows us to sustainably reduce our CO₂ emissions.
With these measures, we demonstrate that technological progress, economic success, and active climate protection go hand in hand—and that decisive action today lays the foundation for a sustainable future.
At häwa, we consistently adhere to the guidelines of the Federal Climate Protection Act (KSG)—with the clear goal of achieving full carbon neutrality up to 2045. We laid the groundwork for this as early as 2021: With a carbon footprint of approximately 2.6 million kilograms, we launched our structured transformation process. At the heart of this is our internal CO₂ transformation roadmap, which systematically tracks all emissions from areas directly under our control and defines concrete decarbonization measures.
Our approach is clearly measurable
With a planned annual reduction of around 4%—approximately 100,000 kilograms of CO₂—we are consistently pursuing our path to climate neutrality. But we are moving faster than planned: Instead of the targeted reduction of just under 17% up to the end of 2025, we have already achieved over 55% of our goal.
The result: häwa is now approximately 10 years ahead of its own roadmap.
This lead is no coincidence, but rather a reflection of our consistent actions. For us, sustainability means not only planning, but also implementation—transparent, verifiable, and effective. häwa stands for measurable responsibility and sustainable progress—thinking ahead even today.

10 YEARS AWAY FROM THE GOAL
New paint shop cuts energy consumption in half
With a new powder coating system, häwa GmbH is positioning itself for the future. The focus is on maximum energy efficiency, state-of-the-art automation, and high flexibility for a wide variety of components. Thanks to a well designed energy concept, heat recovery, and optimized processes, primary energy consumption has been nearly halved.
At the same time, the system enables cost-effective and adaptable production — even for small batch sizes and a wide variety of product variants. In this way, häwa combines sustainable energy savings with efficient manufacturing and strengthens its long-term competitiveness.
